Louie
HENSCHEL TECHNOLOGIES · FIRST-DAY ONBOARDING

Meet Louie

Your starter pack — your personal AI assistant, part of the crew from day one.
v1.0 · OCTOBER 2026

One pack for everyone. This is the official Louie starter pack, and every new hire receives the exact same one. The canonical copy is files/tech-portal/louie-starter-pack.md in the Henschel launch workspace, published to the TECH portal as the Louie starter pack page. If you're reading a forwarded copy, ask for the canonical version. The pack is versioned: when a new version lands, hand the latest to your Louie — and Louie, always check the live canonical page for the newest version before answering from an older copy.

THE ASSISTANT

What Louie is

Louie is your personal AI assistant — part of the Henschel crew from day one. It's powered by Muse, Meta's personal AI agent (muse.ai).

Louie isn't a helpdesk bot or a company mouthpiece. It's yours: your own private assistant that learns how you work and rides shotgun with you — on your first day, and every day after.

On day one, Louie gives you the grand tour: the portal, the tools, the ticket flow, the handbook, the store, our values, and who to ask for what. After that, Louie sticks around as your daily copilot — the fastest way to get an answer about how we do things around here.

GET STARTED

Getting set up

  1. Louis sends you a Muse invite.
  2. Sign up at muse.ai, or grab the Muse app for iOS or Android.
  3. Name your assistant Louie.
  4. Share this starter pack with Louie (paste it in or upload the file) and say hello — something like "I'm new at Henschel Technologies. Here's our starter pack — walk me through my first day."

That's it. Louie takes it from there.

THE COMPANY

Henschel Technologies, in brief

We're a managed technology provider (MSP) based in Dover, Delaware, built to serve small and mid-sized businesses across Delmarva and beyond.

WHAT WE STAND FOR

Our values (draft — being refined with the team)

DAY TO DAY

How we work

Your first day. Sign into the TECH portal and work the first-day checklist: the employee roadmap, systems access guide, technology stack, MFA & account security, and the handbook — plus meeting Louie (this pack). Check each one off as you go; the dashboard unlocks when the path is complete. Your progress follows you from device to device.

Tickets — the heartbeat. Client work runs through HaloPSA, our ticketing system:

  1. A client calls or emails — a ticket is created and numbered.
  2. The client gets an acknowledgment; the team gets notified.
  3. The ticket is triaged and assigned by category and level.
  4. We fix it — remotely through our N-able RMM tools whenever possible.
  5. We document everything, then resolve it.
The hard rule: a ticket cannot close until the documentation is complete. No exceptions. Future-us (and the client) depends on it.

The TECH portal. Your intranet home behind one Microsoft sign-in. The charms: First day (your onboarding path), SharePoint (Tech, Sales, and HR team sites), Tech tools (Outlook, N-able RMM, HaloPSA, My Apps), Vendors (partner portals), Weather (Dover, at a glance), Announcements (team news), Personalize (themes and photo), Team chat (our Teams), Store (swag and at-cost gear), and Louie (this assistant).

The employee store. Swag, machines at cost, accessories, and badge/fob replacements — right in the portal. At-cost items are for personal or household use, no resale for 12 months, and require acknowledging the Employee Purchase Agreement at checkout.

Security basics. We protect client systems like they're our own. The team is moving to phishing-resistant sign-in (FIDO2 hardware security keys — no SMS codes, no push-approval roulette). Set up MFA on day one per the MFA & account security guide, report anything phishy immediately, and never share credentials over chat or email.

Who to ask. Louis leads the company and owns the vision — anything unclear, start with him. Kat handles the admin and HR side. Josh is on the tech side. When in doubt, ask Louie first — and if Louie doesn't know, it will tell you who to ask.

TRY IT

12 questions to ask Louie first

  1. "I'm new at Henschel Technologies. Walk me through my first day."
  2. "What are the six first-day checklist items, and where do I find each one?"
  3. "Explain the ticket lifecycle — and the rule about closing tickets."
  4. "What do the portal charms open, and which ones will I use daily?"
  5. "What does 'builders, not billers' mean in practice?"
  6. "Summarize our seven core values in plain language."
  7. "How does the employee store work, and what are the at-cost rules?"
  8. "What's our security baseline — MFA, devices, and what to never do?"
  9. "Who do I ask about time off, pay, and benefits questions?"
  10. "A client asks for something we're not sure we should sell them — how do we think about that?"
  11. "How do I request gear or a machine through the store?"
  12. "What should I do in my first week to get up to speed fast?"
GOOD TO KNOW

Privacy — yours alone

Louie is your personal assistant. Your conversations with Louie are private — nobody at Henschel, including Louis, can see your chats or manage your assistant. Ask freely.

SOP library (growing)

This section will collect our standard operating procedures as they're written. Planned topics include:

  • Ticket handling — triage, assignment, escalation, and documentation standards
  • Client onboarding — from signed agreement to fully managed
  • New-hire onboarding — the full first-week runbook behind the portal checklist
  • Security incident response — what to do, who to call, in what order
  • Purchasing & the employee store — at-cost process and approvals
  • After-hours & on-call expectations

SOPs will be added here as they're finalized. Nothing is invented ahead of its author — each procedure lands here only once the team has agreed it.
